Objectiv:To explore the clinic value of Video-EEG monitoring in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of epilepsy and non-epileptic seizures suffering from cerebral palsy. Methods: Video-EEG and routine EEG was carried out in 100 children with cerebral palsy, these patients were divided into 2 groups (65 patients were primarily diagnosed as epileptic seizures,35 patients were primarily diagnosed as non-epileptic seizures, who were control group), Separately comparing the detection rate of epileptiform discharges of two method, Comparing the accordance detection rate of epileptiform discharges of 2 groups and the detection rate of epileptiform discharges in Video-EEG of the interictal stage and the ictal stage. Results:The Video-EEG monitoring positive rate of epileptiform discharges in the cerebral palsy with epilepsy group was 73.8%,the routine EEG was 33.8%,χ2=20.92 P<0.005, two groups have significiant differences; the Video-EEG monitoring positive rate of epileptiform discharges in the cerebral palsy with non-epileptic seizures group was 34.2%, the routine EEG was 8.57%,χ2=6.87 P<0.05, two groups have significiant differences;Comparing the accordance detection rate of epileptiform discharges of 2 groups, the cerebral palsy with epilepsy group was 64.6%, the control group was 5.71%,χ2=5.00, P<0.05; The detection rate of epileptiform discharges in Video-EEG of interictal stage was 64.6%, the ictal stage was 43.1%,χ2=6.06 P <0.05.Conclusion:Video-EEG might increase the detection rate of epileptiform discharges. It might be important to clinic value in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of epilepsy and non-epileptic seizures with cerebral palsy.
