The construction industry as a pillar industry of Chinese national economy has undergone a tortuous and long course of development. After the new China was founded, with the large-scale development of national economic construction, the construction industry from scratch, has been developing rapidly. Since reform and opening up, Chinese construction industry has conducted a series of reforms, and made remarkable achievements. So far, Chinese construction industry has experienced five phases, including formation and development stage, stagnation and wandering stage, rehabilitation stage, development stage and the rapid development stage.The development of construction industry and the growth of Chinese economic promote each other. The construction industry provides the material basis of the production and consumption for the national economy, and GDP provides the protection of input and confidence for the construction industry output's increasing. The two cycles stimulate each other's growth. Through the analysis, we find the GDP growth rate or per capita GDP growth rate is for each additional unit, the industry growth rate will be corresponding changes 1.0830 or 1.2244 units, which is demonstrated that there is a huge demand for space and development potential for the development of Chinese construction industry.The cyclical fluctuations of the construction industry and economical growth are basically identical. In the stage of economic expansion, the construction industry is at the stage of expansion, and in the stage of economy contraction ,the construction industry also has a contracted stage. The difference is that the fluctuation in the construction industry is a number of large, and the economic fluctuations is relatively small. Moreover, as Chinese economic development and the advancement of construction industry technologies'level, the cycle of construction industry promoting the economic growth is shorter, which is the medium and long-term impact performance.Up to now, Chinese construction industry has become the focus of social problems, and plays its leading industry position in the backdrop of Chinese economic development gradually.The technological progress and the saving level of land,energy,water,wood of construction industry to a large extent affect the change of the way of Chinese economic growth and the speed and quality of the national economy's overall development.Construction industry is playing an increasingly prominent role in our country's economic growth, mainly in promoting Chinese domestic demand increased, industrial restructuring, increasing employment and the development of relevant industries.There is still much improvement room for the proportion of the construction industry output in the longer period before per capita GDP reaching 7,637 U.S. dollars. China has now entered the "11th Five-Year" development.In this new era, Chinese construction industry faces great opportunities and a lot of challenges.In order to better meet these challenges, we must change the mode of development of construction industry rapidly.
