Postmodern Epistemology From The Perspective Of Marxist Epistemology

This dissertation has analyzed the epistemology of post-modernism and summarized the essence and the thinking style of the epistemology of post-modernist theory in the perspective of the epistemology of Marxism.Post-modernism opposes the traditional distinction between knowledge and belief, assuming that people's beliefs and opinions are a source of truth; solidarity is the essence of knowledge instead of objectivity. It renders us be to understand the knowledge and truth based on social and human behavior. It summarizes that the epistemology of post-modernism is the belief-type, which revealing the relationship between human beings.Post-modernism strongly rejected reflective theory and promoted the standard of the new pragmatism, emphasizing the diversity of knowledge standard.There is special tendency of thinking of the epistemology of post-modernism. Judging from the way of thinking, compared to scientific thinking ,it insists the cultural understanding style of thinking .From the state of thinking , it focuses on diversity ,expressing difference , uncertainty, ambiguity and so on.The paper gives the introduction of the Language Game Theory and the Hermeneutics of post-modernism. The two main methods are used to interpret the knowledge attitude and thinking style, opposing the traditional epistemology.We summarize the academic nature and the cognitional characteristics of the epistemology of the post-modernism based on the epistemology of Marxism .On the one hand, through the practical philosophy of Marxism, we discovery that it has replaced the objectivity of solidarity, abandoning the objectivity of knowledge, only considering that knowledge is composition of pure belief and opinions among human. As essence, it is actually the theory of subjectivism and ideology .On the other hand, viewed from the materialist dialectics, the epistemology of post-modernism is liable to overemphasis on diversity and difference, ignore or even deny the general nature of identity, which is relativism and shares the basic metaphysical thinking.In addition, a hidden clue in epistemology of post-modernism is the struggle between objectivism and subjectivism, absolutism and relativism. Only the epistemology of Marxism synthesizes it and achieves transcendence through the practical philosophy and dialectics of Marxism.
