The Small and Medium-sized Enterprises(SMEs) have an important status in the development of national economy, and have played a major role in the absorption of employment, social stability and dynamic economy. China should vigorously support and promote the development of SMEs. However, for a long time, capital bottleneck is the realistic difficulties for the development of SMEs in China. At present, the most important way for Chinese SMEs'financing channels is relying on the bank loans.In the meantime, with the full liberalization of Chinese banking sector, City Commercial Banks are meeting the competition and challenges from home and abroad, and facing severe surviving and developing pressures. Compared to the other types of financial institutions, City Commercial Banks have the comparative advantage of information and services localization in SMEs services. Therefore, Chinese City Commercial Banks are in an urgent need to serve SMEs, which is viewed as their own way to development in the fierce competition.This shows that the study of development strategy of Chinese City Commercial Banks'SMEs credit business is with important practical significance for improving SMEs1 financing situation and promoting the development of City Commercial Banks.This paper firstly analyzes the importance of City Commercial Banks'SMEs credit business. Secondly, this paper analyzes the development of our existing City Commercial Banks'SMEs credit business, and explores the problems of them. Finally, from the five aspects—the SMEs credit business model, marketing strategies, the banks'internal mechanisms, SMEs'financing conditions and external support measures, recommendations are gived for the development strategy of the City Commercial Banks'SMEs credit business.
