Olympic Sailing Competition In Qingdao Tourism Pulling Effect Study

This thesis researches about the influence of Olympic Sailing Regatta on Qingdao from the angle of the preparatory stage,the courses of events and after the events.It studies the obvious influence Olympic Sailing Regatta has on Qingdao's tourism industry, including the influence on creating the tourism city brand of Qingdao,tourism marketing and the influence of continuous using of the Olympic Sailing Center on the tourism economy.Using the principles and methods of economics,sociology,management and tourism,combining the theoretical analysis and the empirical research,this thesis analyzes systematically the influence of Olympic Sailing Regatta on Qingdao's tourism industry so that it can draw the attention of the government and the industry to the post-Olympic tourism and take the positive measures to make more profit.This thesis consists of four parts:It introduces the aim,the significance of the research and the relative research in Chapter One.It analyzes the influence of Olympic Sailing Regatta on creating Qingdao's tourism city brand "Sailing City",and it analyzes the influence of the government operational level and citizen's civilization on Qingdao's tourism market in Chapter Two.In Chapter Three it analyzes the influence of preparation and holding of Olympic Sailing Regatta on Qingdao's tourism market and it shows after successfully bidding of Olympic Sailing Regatta,the numbers of tourists coming to Qingdao have greatly increased comparing the numbers before the bidding and the other cities which haven't held Olympic Games.The motivations of the tourists have been diversified high-end which gives the new life to the tourism consumption.In Chapter Four,the "SWOT" methods are used to analyze the strength,weakness,opportunities and threat of the continuous using of Olympic Sailing Center and the influence on the surrounding area.Meanwhile,it advances the proposals on continuous using of Olympic Sailing Center.We can create the "Olympic Sailing Center" an attractive "5A"grade scenic spot and make full use of the functions of holding the sailing competitions to develop it into a Chinese sports tourism attraction and a national exemplary holiday center in the North.
