Yiwu Urban And Rural Integration Research

The Report to 17th National Congress of the CPC put forward the strategy of establishing long-effective mechanism of"Accelerating the development of agriculture by industry, driving the economy of the rural by the urban, thus forming a new pattern of urban & rural integration". The 3rd Plenary Session of the 17th National Congress further describes the blue print of the urban & rural integration, and advances the program of action to realize it in this new era. There is no doubt that the process of urban & rural integration will accelerate in Zhejiang Province in the future.In recent years, guided by the Scientific Outlook on Development, Yiwu is vigorously advancing the urban & rural integration by continuously promoting agriculture by industry and driving the economy of the rural by the urban. The duality structure of urban and rural is gradually eliminated, while the gap is being reduced. A new pattern of urban & rural integration has formed. The author tries to explore new ideas and measures on this for developed cities and counties through analyzing the related theory and the practice of some developed cities and counties with Yiwu as one representative, thus helping to accelerate the process of socialism urban & rural integration in Zhejiang Province.This paper firstly explores the basic theory of urban & rural integration, setting forth the concept, major content and historic development. Then, the paper explains the realistic meaning of accelerating this process for developed cities and counties in Zhejiang Province, pointing out that the practice is an inevitable choice for Zhejiang's economic and social development, a fundamental road to solve "The three concerns related to agriculture", and the important content of implementing Scientific Outlook on Development, as well as the guarantee for Zhejiang's Economy remaining one of the most developed in China.The third part of the paper analyzes the current situation of Yiwu's urban & rural integration from three aspects: urbanization, industrialization and marketization. The fourth part is dedicated to explore the obstacles Yiwu is facing concerning mechanism, system and resources of urban & rural integration. Final part presents proposals and measures to the existing problems Yiwu is facing according to the current situation of Yiwu practice.
