Since the Chinese Reform and Opening-up policies in 1978,the commerce-oriented development strategy has been adhered to in Yi Wu city.China Small-Commodities City's development path is along "local baseâ†'national operationâ†'interward internationalizationâ†'outward internationalization".Now China Small-Commodities City has become an important base of international commodity hub.Currently,it covers an area of 2.6 million square meters,boasting over 58,000 booths,involved in 43 industries,1901 commodity groups and totally over 400,000 varieties.Besides,the whole market is with an average daily patronage of 200,000 and an overall turnover volume of 31.5 billion yuan in 2006,ranked top amongst the industrial goods wholesale markets in China for 16 consecutive years since 1991.At the same time,Yiwu has nurtured a group of preponderant industries and scaled enterprises,such as socks,jewelry,zippers,cosmetics,shirts,stationery, pencil,toys,and a group of industry,scale enterprises and the well-known products. Therefore,the market has formed an industrial development pattern as "small commodities,large industries,small enterprises and large clusters ".This thesis consists of six Chapters altogether.Chapter one briefly introduces some relative circulation theories,including research backgrounds,research methods. Chapter two introduces related literatures,including gradual internationalizaiton theory,industry clusters,cluster competitiveness of the industry and finally practice research of China Small-Commodities City's internationalization path.Chapter three analyzes the internationalization background of specialist markets in China.And also put s forwards the "three-step" development path of specialist markets,namely by accident and primary international stage,positive but interward internationalization development stage,mature and outward internationalizaiton development stage.Besides this,Chatper three also records the internationalization process of China Small-Commodities City,which includes four stages:the first stage is from 1982 to 1990,which is named brewing stage;second stage is from 1991 to 2002,which is named primary international stage;third stage is from 2002 to 2005, which is named inward internationalization development stage;and last stage is from 2005 till now,named outward internationalizaiton development stage.In this Chapter, the writer has also collected useful data from 1982 to 2007,which clearly records the rapid internationalization of Yiwu China Commodity City. Liu Zeng(2005) revised Porter's "diamond" model after a long-term practical research in Zhejiang province.Chapter four makes a comprehensive analysis of how China Small-Commodities City forms a strong international competitiveness by applying the revised "diamond" model from six different factors,which includes government support,"Bolanggu" culture,strong domestic demand,exchange and cooperation within the market cluster,support from traditional manufacturing industry cluster and finally enterprising strategy.In Chapter five,the writer points out the exsiting chanllenges that China Small-Commodities City is facing.There is international protection of intellectual property rights and commercial policy barriers,increasing competition both at home and abroad,changes in demand,upgrading requirements of the traditional manufacturing industry cluster and the rising of retail industry.In the last Chapter,the writer combines the analysis in Chapter four and five,and puts forward her own opinion at how to enhance the international competitiveness of China Small-Commodities City to a new stage.
