With the development of Chinese opening up policy, Chinese private enterprises developed very quickly. Zhejiang Tongkun Chemical Fiber Group, since 1981, has become one of the leaders in polyester yarn industry. Tongkun Group now meets the bottleneck of further development. The thesis analyzed the main issue that the company met, on the basis of combining the present competition situation and the popular theory of competition strategy. The main problem is that the regular polyester yarn has gone into the mature stage in the Product Life Cycle; the supply is obviously bigger than the demand, while the differentiated polyester yarn becomes the trend and has prosperous future. The thesis just proposed the differentiation strategy and how to make it happen from four points which probably is helpful for the company and the whole polyester yarn industry.The thesis consists of nine parts: Preface, Part 1 the background of polyester yarn industry, Part 2 Five forces analysis, Part 3 SWOT analysis, Part 4 Product Life Cycle analysis, Part 5 Critical Success Factor analysis, Part 6 corporate competition strategy, Part 7 the implication of the differentiation strategy and the Conclusion.The main theories applied are Porter's competition strategy, SWOT analysis, the Product Life Cycle and so on.
