3G have been engaged in commerce for 8 years since its generated time.Although 3G is fast developing in Europe and Sourth-East Asia,but by December 2007,no licences has been awarded in China.At the same time,manufacturers always persuades China government and telecom operators to launch 3G in China and establish test network as soon as possible.They wish to get more benefits fom 3G services.Also,the ballyhoos appears on the newspaper and internet,it beats the drum for 3G's newest technologies and powerful applications and services.Whatever happens,China 3G still steady go along itself way.The technology of mobile communication has gone through two generations,and now evoIve into the third era(3G) which based on CDMA techniques.The 3G focuses its network target to live video,high speed multimedia and mobile internet service,and it will expand tremendously the function of mobile terminals integrating the role of remoter,map navigation,mobile theatre and video telephone.There is no doubt that China mobile will lauch 3G.The third generation of mobile communication enriches great market opportunities.Alcatel-Shanghai Bell who is a main equipment provider of mobile communication,it' s competitive strategy of 3G products is the key factor to gain competitive advantages in the coming 3G tidal wave. It is of great practical significance to study the current 3G competitive strategy of Alcatel Shanghai Bell.First,the paper analyzes the forthcoming 3G technology and competitors in the area,and based on these analysis brings forward Alcatel-Shanghai Bell 3G development strategy.A lot of constructive suggestions are also proposed in accordance with the insufficiency emerged during the implementation of the current strategy.It is hoped that,with reference to the strategic analysis for the 3G products of Alcatel-Shanghai Bell,it will also benefit the operators and the equipment providers in China to meet the challenges and opportunities in the age of 3G.
