Mass Customization, Agile Supply Chain Coordination Mechanism

Mass Customization (MC) is a new mode of production that organically combines the mass production and the advantages of customization production. Today as the diversity of customer needs and drastic competitions, enterprises are changing from the traditional mass production to MC for the market demands. The coordination of supply chain facing MC is a key factor to ensure the efficient operation of the MC production mode.In this article , fist I review the research status in agile supply chain management for MC. And I research the coordination mechanism of agile supply chain and the collaboration mode that supports the agile supply chain management. Then, I research the building process and countermeasures of agile supply chain partnership. Finally I introduce a real case that used agile supply chain management for MC successfully.The coordination mechanism between the MC manufacturer and the Supplier is discussed. According to the MC manufacturer' s flexible demands for the Supplier' s Products, the quantity flexibility contract, which is enlarged, is used between the MC manufacturer and the supplier. Based on the analysis of the contract, conclusions are drawn: the quantity flexibility contract can make the MC Manufacturer get the flexible Purchase of the Products from the supplier; reduce the risk from the uncertainty of customer' s demands and Under certain conditions, the contract can lead to the supply chain coordination.Through a specific enterprise, explain the quantity flexibility contract' s effect between the enterprises ' s order system on a supply chain.
