With the globalization comes to be a nature of the world economy, even the most famous and successful multinational companies can not easily dominate both international and local market. Most of the companies must adopt a new strategy when they encounter the local competition in a new market. Therefore, Operational excellence, continuous improvement on organization and process comes to be a key to drive the local success.In this paper, Author conducted an empirical research on the customer service department under Cooper Crouse Hinds China supply chain team, collected data from year 2003 to year 2008, analyzed and concluded on why the changes took place. In this study, the theory of customer management, process mapping, process reengineering and theory of lean production are involved. And the analysis focuses on the following aspects:1. The popular theory of the customer service and supply chain management.2. The re-organization and process re-engineering of Crouse Hinds China customer service team.3. Process change adapt to the organization change.4. Change of the culture from internal focus to the customer focusA conclusion is drawn after the analysis: Always focusing on details, continuously improvement on service level and differentiation on service are to be the competitive advantages for a multinational company to deeply involve in and win the local competition. A multinational company can take a serious look into the supply chain, conduct the value stream mapping, and employ the proper reengineering to improve the working efficiency and effectiveness. This will automatically lead to a higher service level to customer, to the market, and therefore win the market recognition and competition.
