Since reformation and opening Chinese Processing Trade continuously develops much stronger and gradually becomes the main form of foreign trade,which exceeds the commonly trade. It has unsubstitutable effects on development of our society, while every coin has two sides.There are lots of deficiency and limit in the process of its development.For example serious regional imbalance, labor-denseness and low value-added products,low technical level,low national matching capability and so on.Under this background The Third Plenary Session of the 16th Central Committee of Party of China passed "A Decision on Issues Regarding the Improvement of the Socialist Market Economic System" and it stated that China should "continue to develop processing trade,to attract multinational corporations in order to transfer more sophisticated and advanced technology, more value-added processing expertise and research centers to China,and to lead to the transformation and enhancements of processing trade". That investigates direction for development of processing trade.The thesis firstly focuses on the meaning and related theories of processing trade, then analyses its economic effects which include quantitative data and qualitative data. The thesis analyses collectable data and affirm active effects of processing trade.Followingly the thesis analyses problems in the process of its development and factors which influence transformation and upgrading. The thesis shows clearly direction and bring forward countermeasures which promote transformation and upgrading of processing trade.Qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis are used in this thesis:qualitative analysis makes the result of study consist with the theory; quantitative analysis offers datas and makes the argumentations look more reasonable and pursuadable.
