R & D Internationalization, International Industrial Shift Analysis, And China's Countermeasures

On the background of ongoing international industry transfer, this paper analyzes the characteristics and trend of such transfer. After the three waves of international industry transfer since WW II, the ongoing industry transfer is led by TNCs(Transnational Corporations) and driven by innovation of science and technology. Internationalization of TNCs' R&D has become an important means of TNCs' global competition strategy. With a view to TNCs, a leading factor in international industry transfer, this paper researches on the causes of such transfer and the inherent link between the industry transfer and the internationalization of TNCs' R&D.The advancement of science and technology has accelerated industry transfer radically, and made the existence of TNCs possible. The development of science and technology is the fundamental driving power of international industry transfer. Holding the two factors, TNCs and the advancement of science and technology, this paper analyzes the trend and impact of international industry transfer and the affect of both two factors to the industry transfer.China has played more and more important role in global economy, facing all kinds of opportunities and challenges. While China has been endowed her own advantaged conditions in carrying on international industry transfer, she also has many unavoidable problems in this procedure. On the analysis of location selection of TNCs' R&D investment, the author proposes policy suggestion on China making full use of such opportunity in carrying on the ongoing international industry transfer.This paper has four chapters. The first chapter is Research on the development and causes of international industry transfer, which introduces the development and theory research on international industry development and analyzes the trend of the transfer. The second chapter is The trend and causes of internationalization of TNCs' R&D, which researches on the behavior of internationalization of TNCs' R&D investment and expounds the representative theories of TNCs' foreign R&D investment. The third chapter is The impact of internationalization of TNCs' R&D on international industry transfer, the core part of this paper, which researches on the inherent mechanism between the international industry transfer and the internationalization of TNCs' R&D. The fourth chapter is Countermeasures on China's application of TNCs' R&D investment and international industry transfer, which, based on the research of the three above chapters, analyzes the significance and situation of carrying on international industry transfer in China, and makes expectation of TNCs' R&D investment in China, and proposes policy suggestion for China's better development.
