The scarcity of entrepreneurial human capital has been the bottle-neck hindering the advancement of the core competence of Chinese private enterprises. How to break through this bottle-neck and upgrade the core competence of our enterprises has become a common concern theoretically and practically. Therefore, researches on core competence based on entrepreneurial human capital are of great significance in perfecting core competence theory and guiding the development of private enterprises.Based on synthesizing the related theories and methods of entrepreneur, human capital, core competence as well as structural equation modeling, the paper analyzes the components of the entrepreneurial human capital and the core competence. It lays out the theoretical model of the core competence underlying entrepreneurial human capital and testifies the correlated hypotheses through the empiric research of the private enterprises in Jiangsu province, China. It also poses some suggestions on cultivating and upgrading the core competence of private enterprises.Firstly, based on summarizing the related theories, the paper analyzes the components of the entrepreneurial human capital and the core competence. The entrepreneurial human capital includes efficiency human capital, dynamic human capital and exchange human capital. The core competence contains marketing competence, management competence and technology competence.Secondly, the paper discusses the internal function mechanism that efficiency human capital, dynamic human capital and exchange human capital impress on the core competence, puts forward the research hypotheses, and lays out the theoretical model of the core competence underlying entrepreneurial human capital.Finally, the paper conducts the empiric research on the private enterprises in Jiangsu province. It verifies the questionnaire's validity and reliability by using factor analysis and reliability analysis, and testifies the correlated hypotheses by establishing structural equation model. It also poses some suggestions on cultivating and upgrading core competence of the private enterprises from angles of both the entrepreneur and the private enterprise.The innovations of the paper are as following: (1)Entrepreneurial human capital is incorporated into the analysis framework of enterprise core competence. It lays out the theoretical model of the core competence underlying entrepreneur human capital and discovers the internal function mechanism that entrepreneur human capital impresses on core competence.(2)It testifies the correlated research hypotheses and the theoretical model with the method of structural equation modeling.
