Firstly, the author summarized and appraised the major viewpoint of the rural-urban integration from abroad and domestic scholar and specialist, defined rural-urban integration in a new way, put forth his understanding theoretically on rural-urban integration after tracing the related research home and abroad, that is, rural-urban integration is the guiding rule and developing strategic for treating the relationship between the rural and urban areas, is the thinking method, is the course. Then, identified empirically the problems and factors that has affected the integration in Yanbian, and finally proposed possible strategic approaches to accelerating the integration in Yanbian.It is shown that, with the rapid development in the last century, not only the income and living standard of citizens but the infrastructure and kinds of fact social have also grown significantly in Yanbian. Had the problems emerging in the course of the integration been solved properly, and the development strategies been adjusted in time, the integration would enter a new phase smoothly. Currently, the problems in the course of the integration mainly include weak assembling and diffusing ability; expanding on quantity, lowing on quality and function; unreasonable scale structure, lacking whole function of the urban system; lacking the relationship of the town; lacking capital devotion, lagging infrastructure development; lacking scientific programming, wasting many land resources;lagging on market development, unapplying the demands; unresolved the lacking effective demanding. All these problems have to some extent restricted the progress of the integration. Therefore, in order to further the integration, the following strategies should be considered: to quicken building the central city, to bringing into effect the "Big Yanji" strategy; to carry out "New countryside" strategy to quicken the agriculture rural-urbanization; deepen the rural-urban policy and structural reform; to tighten rural-urban scientific, cultural and educational fact to develop the rural-urban mental civilization; to deepen building the rural-urban infrastructure to develop scientific; to reinforce ecological environment to tighten...
