Electronic commerce (e-commerce) is a revolution in the history of social development. It presents a new idea and mode which is based on information technology; it also drastically changes the traditional commercial mode and strategy. With the fast development of information and network technology, e-commerce grows successfully in recent years, and expands to every field of social economic life step by step.Electronic payment (e-payment) is essential in e-commerce. E-commerce is not complete until e-payment is realized, otherwise, it only stays in the stage of information publication and retrieval.Finance electronization (e-finance) is also closely linked with e-payment. The widespread use of the Internet has altered the traditional way of doing business and brought the era of e-commerce. This also brings challenges and risks to financial institutions, especially in the area of payment services.I choose the topic in order to push forward the development of e-payment and e-commerce in China. The paper carefully studies the present situations of e-payment in China and foreign countries on the basis of a large amount of data, which is taken from some authorized institutes and magazines like CNNIC, IDC and MARKET. This article introduces the theories, agreements and the related concepts e-commerce and e-payment, analyzes the current status and main problems of e-payment.
