A Study On The Strategy Of The Construction And Operations For The Logistics Park In Wuhan Metropolitan Area

As the introduction of top ten industrial regulations and revitalizations in China, the logistics industry has obtained increasing attention from both the government and the general public due to its significant potential. Local governments are stepping up construction of the related projects and investment, in which the logistics park is one of the largest and most comprehensive benefits of core projects. In addition, the Wuhan city group's economy will gradually increase due to the development of Wuhan Metropolitan Area as well as the economic exchanges between the Wuhan urban agglomerations. Hence, the bright prospect can be expected for the development of the logistics industry and the logistics parks.In this paper, a forward-looking overall construction plan for Wuhan Logistics Park was proposed based on the analysis of the previous study as well as the actual situation around Wuhan. First of all, the development and operation of domestic and international logistic parks were introduced and compared. After that, the situation of Wuhan Metropolitan Area was briefly reviewed by referencing the industry, services, consumer demand and the development of several aspects of foreign trade, followed by the introduction of the Wuhan Logistics Park Development Strategy. Preliminary plan for the logistics park in Wuhan City Logistics Park was then proposed based on the horizontal comparison and the logistics node hierarchy and layout. Moreover, the development, operation, investment and financing, as well as business model of Wuhan Logistics Park was discussed and proposed according to the experience of domestic and international logistics park development. In addition, the profit models of the three major logistics park were proposed in accordance with the strategic decision, the construction period and the strategic positioning of the market in Wuhan city circle. The last but not the least, the development strategies for the logistics park in Wuhan Metropolitan Area was summarized, and the recommendations were proposed to improve the overall logistics efficiency.
