Given increasingly turbulent environments, heigh tened competition, and unpredictable technological change, more and more organizations are coming to realize that human resources management (HRM) has become the center of modern enterprise management. Competence model as an advanced tool, it help to improve staff selection, training, enhance work efficiency and other, becoming a new perspective of HRM system.First of all, a review of competence model is provided, which includes the basic theoretical concepts of competence, competence model, characteristics, methods and steps of building competence model, such as behavioral event interview (BEI). The applications and effects of competence model is introduced too.Second, a case about KD company and competence model was provided. In this case, several critical questions about competence model were discussed, such as how to build a competence model, how to measure competence factors, and how to restruct organization's human resource management system based on competence model.Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of application of competence model in KD company was discussed. There were two advantages: the quality of recruitment was prompoted through competence model; a efficient human resource management system was formed based on competence model. There were two disadvantages: the competence model was deduced from CEO's thoughts; the effect of competence model was not appraisaled by objective criterions. |
