With the social development and the progress we have made in China's science and technology, the private economy of Jilin Province has achieved a rapid advance in recent years and it is playing an increasingly important role in our national economic development. According to the latest release of the 2009 per capita GDP among the Chinese provinces, Jilin Province ranks the top by 3798.49 U.S. dollars and the contributions made by private enterprises can not be neglected. For private enterprises, especially those who set ownership and management as one unit of the family business, most managers enjoy greater autonomy and flexibility under the paterlistic leadership model. However, in a highly competitive economic system, whether a business could succeed and perish depends entirely on the managers'managerial performance. Then the relationship between the paterlistic leadership behavior and managerial performance is what this article will be focused on.This paper reviews and summarizes some previous studies first, the studies were about paterlistic leadership and management performance. The results speak,when paterlistic leadership behavior play a role in management performance, management self-efficacy and organizational commitment play an important role.Therefore, management self-efficacy and organizational commitment are made as intermediate variables in this article.Then, this paper presents research hypothesis:about the relationship of paterlistic leadership and management self-efficacy;the relationship of management self-efficacy and organizational commitment and management performance.Then, this paper established the conceptual model.Moreover,the overall design is ascertained. Two methods of study are adopted: First, paterlistic leadership behavior affects the management performance by its management self-efficacy ; second, paterlistic leadership behavior influences the management performance through the management self-efficacy and organizational commitment.In the empirical study, this paper has a total of 248 cases,198 valid questionnaires were recovered. SPSS (15.0) and AMOS (7.0) are adopted in study.Using the statistical software for analysising, the conclusions are arrived at as follows:The paterlistic leadership behavior has a significant positive predictive effect on the management self-efficacy in Jilin;province;.management self-efficacy has a significant positive effect on management performance and organizational commitment in Jilin province;.organizational commitment has a significant positive predictive effect on management performance in Jilin province..
