City-edged villages refer to the villages which are on edge of the city and covered by the scope of long-term planning and construction of the city. It is a key area of the rapid expansion of the city. With the acceleration of urbanization, growing demand for construction land is bound to take up a lot of land. Therefore, the city-edged village will inevitably be part of the land into construction land, which will make our contradictions between people and land increasingly acute. Meanwhile, abundant farming lands are indispensable parts of shopping basket project. Thus, we can only adopt to methods of potential development and intensive using in order to ensure the capacity of the land during the process in expanding cities.Settlements of the City-edged village in general is the spontaneous formation and development, so lacking of planning has caused confusion in the village distribution and an area of large, extensive land use. What's more, in recent years, coupled with a large number of migrant workers flood into cities, land management lack-age and delay return of possession of the land and the homestead, there are a lot of idle land and tremendous waste of land. As cities expanding, the intensive land use of the city-edged village is becoming a focus. The significance of intensive land use has been dug in this research firstly. It based on intensive use of land into the details of the content. Then, it takes Zhen-RenqQiao village in Changsha for example, summing up problems of land-use and analyzing the reasons for their problems. On this basis, according to research and screening, important impact indicators, such as the input level of the land, land use intensity and land productivity benefits and sustainable land use intensity of land have been selected. Also, the Delphi and AHP Evaluation system have been used to quantify the degree and the conclusion that the land use is still in the initial stage has been drawled. Finally, from the above analysis, in order to improve the degree of intensive land use, we must strengthen the preparation of planning enforcement to enhance the concept of intensiveness on the basis of intensive. Also, we must withdrawal the village to point to form the village center and to maintain a reasonable building density and floor area ratio. At the same time, we are required to develop vigorous agriculture and rural tourism, to enhance the land's output, thereby to increase the intensive utilization of land and achieve sustainable land development.
