Shaanxi Province, Urban Residents' Consumption Structure Empirical Research

Consumption is the most important and stable element of economic growth. In Shaanxi province, the contribution rate of consumption in economic growth is far too low, that constrained the economic growth. Therefore how to increase the consumption of households effectively, and stimulate economic growth in Shaanxi, is become a essetial problem. To solve this problem, this paper choose consumption structure of households in urban area of Shaanxi as research object, and empirical analysis the specific feature of consumption structure with statistics. And then forecast the trend of consumption structure of households in urban area of Shaanxi. And search and analysis the factors which influences the consumption structure.At first, this paper analysised the consumption structure of households in urban area of Shaanxi by statistic method with a large amount of data, and compared with other province. And research shows that the structure of consumption had already beyond the stage of survive and reached the stage of develop and enjoy but still not reached the average in China. Consumption of transportation and communication will increase fast in the future,also the consumption of medical and education.Secondly this paper analysed the present consumption structure of households in urban Shaanxi with ELES. And use the model of time series forecast the future consumption structure.The result proved the result from last part.Finally this paper analysed the factor as income, income differences, price, liquidity constraints which influenced the consumption structure.. And research show that the consumption function of households in urban area of Shaanxi is fit the Keynes'theory. To incease the consumption, the government should incease households'income, decrease the income difference, make the price stable, improve the part of households in GDP and try to erase the liquidity constraints.
