In recent years, hot springs in China has become a more significant leisure product. It is a sign of transition from sightseeing-type to leisure-type. As a part of tourism industry in Yunnan province, Spa product is an outgrowth at a certain stage of tourism's developing. The preliminary census identified that Yunnan abounds with out of the 1230 natural hot springs and waters covered, accounting for about one-third of the total of hot springs, and ranking the first among the provinces and regions in china. Yunnan is fully qualified to build a world-class hot springs tourism Zone and make an international brand, in terms of the occurrence of thermal springs, water quality, and flow rates, which are all, arrived at an overall classification of the hot springs in China. But extensive style of operational growth, Characterized by "top-quality resourses", "second-rate exploitation", "third-rate services", is a common problem by thermal springs developing. Warm spring tourism is lack in Ethnic brand, fine design philosophy, wide range of product, default innovation and cultural connotation. The warm spring tourism exploitation is a system project influenced by many factors. This paper, on the basis of tourist location theory, tourist cluster theory, cultural geography and sustainable development of the tourism etc and with literature collection, comparison and reference, case studies and SWOT Analysis etc methods used, analyzes the developing model of spring tourism of Yunnan province. According to such a analyzing thing, the paper, on the premise of studying the problem along the research of resources and tourism history and its current status, proposes five development models of hot spring tourism:"Pan hot springs" model, health-resort model, Yunnan-style spa model, hot spring-town model, Hot Springs Residential Real Estate model. However, the model is just an abstract framework. The exploitation of hot spring in actual operations should be found an appropriate developing pattern, rather than blindly copying or imitation.Based on analysis, the purpose of the paper is either to create a spa brand or to make a new bright spot for Yunnan, which will open up a new epoch called "post-thermal era". Meanwhile, all these research data not only provide opportunities for interested scholars with some theoretical reference to the actual operations, but offer some theoretical guidance and practical value for the tourism development as well.
