| In the era of economic globalization and knowledge-based economy, agglomerating is a strong form to upgrade regional and industrial competitiveness, which has being drew interests from the academia and the government. The previous relevant researches focused on the trend, system and effectiveness of industrial agglomeration, while studies on multi-cities are quite few. Therefore, for the development of regional theory and regional economy, it may be of great significance to studying on the industrial agglomerating trend and its benefits among different cities in a same province.From the perspective of human geography and new economic geography and some other disciplines, this article explored the status, trends and effectiveness of industrial agglomeration from 1998-2007 in Fujian, which with its focus on the correlation between regions, industries and industries agglomeration. And it takes qualitative and quantitative analysis, static and dynamic analysis. In general, it proves that industries agglomerating in Fujian is widespread and greatly different inter industries, which still in a lower-level. Dynamically speaking, most industries' agglomeration index in Fujian has declined unequally, especially in some resource and labor-intensive industries.Concerning the connection between industrial agglomeration and economic growth in Fuzhou and Longyan, it concluded that specialization has a negative effect on industrial growth, while the economy diversifying and industry growing was not significantly related. Yet, the regional competition has distinctly prompted growing in industries. It needs accounting that the negative effect did not parallel to disclaim the contribution of the agglomeration, which just means the regional developing level and industrial running environment being more affective. |
