Research On Improving The Throughput Capacity Of Dalian Container Terminal Berth

In recent years, due to the economic development of hinterland, improved set of transport conditions and constantly opended up new routes, dalian container terminal achieved rapid development, container throughput successive climb. However, With the accelerated pace of Large-scale container ship, the front port of call deep water berths, loading and unloading conditions, and operating efficiency, have a higher requirements. Also, liner shipping companies in order to reduce costs and reduce the number of ports of call, thus exacerbating the intense competition between major ports. As the old port, due to their own conditions, the Dalian Container Terminal facing tremendous development pressure. However,for the port, the port berth throughput capacity is an important symbol of overall competitiveness. Therefore, the increase berth capacity to attract routes anchored, is an important issue of the Dalian container terminal development. However, in recent years, With the growth in container throughput, there ara many other issues, including Mechanical tension,large number of restow containers,high equipment failure rate, and so on, in the Dalian Container Terminal operations, the efficiency of port operations reduces greatly, Which seriously affected the capacity throughput of berths. So, solving the problems in these operations, it has become imperative, In this paper, with the theory of berth capacity and practical experience, we analyze on the main factors of affectting the berth throughput capacity and problems of the Dalian Container Terminal operations. According to the gray theory, GM (1,1) model was established, and tested the rationality of model, with residual series,relating degree and mean-square deviatio.It is rational. Predictted the container throughput of Dalian Container Terminal in next five years.In addition, also computing capacity berths of Dalian Container Terminal with the formula, and analyed the results moderately. In the last, Proposed solutions with the main factors of affectting the berth throughput capacity and problems of the Dalian Container Terminal operations.
