A algorithm for computed tomography (CT) reconstruction was developed using a PI-line segment-based backprojection algorithm in CT system.The algorithm first differentiates the fan beam and parallel ray projection data that is then backprojected onto a series of parallel PI-line segments.The data on the PI-line segments are then filtered using a Hilbert transform to get the reconstructed image.There are four chapters in this thesis.In the second chapters, we discuss the reconstruction image from parallel ray and reconstruction was developed using a PI-line segment-based backprojection algorithm in parallel ray.In the third and forth chapters,we discuss the reconstruction image from fan-beam and reconstruction was developed using a PI-line segment-based backprojection algorithm in fan-beam Numerical simulations using the Shepp-Logan model demonstrate that the algorithm can accurately reconstruct images.Analysis of real images from a micro-focus X-ray CT system also illustrates the systems effectiveness.It is clear that their algorithm possesses various potential benets such as simplification of data acquisition,good temporal resolution,reduced patient dose,reduced of x-ray source power, and reduction of computational requirements.
