Target-aspect sensitive problem is the headache of radar automatic target recognize system (RATR) based on high-resolution range profile (HRRP). This thesis focus on the HRRP target-aspect sensitivity and the research can be summarized in three aspects.Based on the scattering center model,the first part makes a detailed analysis of the target-aspect sensitivity of HRRP in three hierarchical levels, points out the formation and characteristics of the sensitivity in each level.Then echo model and the physical mechanism for HRRP with glint range cells is calculated based on the wide band radar system. Some kernels are emphasized, including the specialty of the echo power modulation, the probability of glint and the effect on the amplitude of glint. In the end, the chapter compares the glint in HRRP and the angular glint in tracking radar and summarizes the differences in the concept and property.The second part proposes a quantitatively analyze method to measure the impacts of the target-aspect sensitivity on HRRP based on feature extraction. Differences measurements are constituted in order to analyze of the influence on HRRP from three different level of target-aspect sensitivity in quantity. Based on the analysis, the thesis study on the effects of the target-aspect sensitivity on HRRP-based RATR system, propose some thorough understanding on some process in HRRP-based RATR system, such as date preprocessing, template generation, extracting features and so on. Then a template generation method using the adaptive partition of angular domain based on glint insensitive features is put forward, which can make a better recognition result in the experiment.According to the target-aspect sensitivity problem, the thesis proposes an algorithm of automatic generation of HRRP clustering template in the third part, based on the data driving means. The algorithm, which can generate templates without target-aspect information, is more practical than traditional algorithm. The result of experiments proves the excellent performance of the algorithm.In the end, the research result of the thesis has been systematically summarized and the research direction in the future has been indicated.
