With the rapid development of the computer and broadband technology, Internet- based multimedia communication technology has become a hot researching field of communications. As one of the most important protocol of the current communications, SIP signaling protocol favored by many operators and communica- tions equipment manufacturers depending on its simple, flexible, scalable advantages, and will be the core control protocol in the next generation network, has great broad application prospects. At present, most SIP applications rely on a variety of the central server, such as registration servers, redirect servers, proxy servers, etc. Its'typical of the C/S architec- ture, this model has many problems such as poor reliability, poor scalability and higher maintenance costs. While the DHT-based structured P2P networks have good scalability, robustness and self-organization, and there is no server reliability and scalability issues generated by traditional C/S architecture. How to integrate P2P and SIP and take advantage of both technologies'advantages to achieve SIP systerm's self-organization and resources positioning is the focus of this paper. The paper focuses on how to use the DHT network's distributed and self- organizing features to replace the traditional various SIP servers to achieve the SIP resources'registration, query and location. First, on the basis of detailed analyze the combination and networking ways between P2P and SIP, take account of the factors such as heterogeneity of nodes that impact the response time of resource locationing, give a proposed model—SIP resources positioning model based on Kademlia algorithm. This model divides networks by Lan and there are at least one adapter node for each lan. DHT networks which are in charge of positioning and searching operations are constructed by adapter nodes with Kademlia algrithm. Then extend the SIP messages in accordance with the RFC 3261 standards, design the messages'generation rules and study on the routing mechanism and the key algorithm for this model. Finally, Implement this model and experiment to verify its'correctness. Experimental results show that the model can be convenient and efficient to self-organize SIP system and achieve good resource postioning and discovery functions with an acceptable network latency and good scalability and reliability.
