In recent years, Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display (TFT-LCD) occupies a large share of display market with its advantages, for example:low weight, low power consumption, high definition, passive light-emitting, and so on. It has substituted Cathode Ray Tube Display (CRT) to become the present mainstream display device. But the development of TFT-LCD is not very long, coupled with its complex production process, there are many issues to be solved. Among these, White Mura is a serious problem affecting their quality.First, the current research of TFT-LCD at home and abroad was introduced in this paper, then the product quality and some defects were introduced. White Mura is a serious defect which highly affected product quality, there was detailed description in the paper. The process and design of TFT-LCD were decribed in the paper too, according analysis and comparison, White Mura can be caused by a variety of reasons, and they are summed up in two categories, one is design flaw, and the other is drawback of production process. As modifying of production process to reduce White Mura are likely to increase other defects, so we prefer to regulate product design. This article finally find out a method of redesigning Photo Spacer(PS) position to reduce White Mura's incidence. This result comes out from the analysis and comparison of the TFT-LCD design and process, and respective tests from Array process (width of Shield Bar), the width of black matrix, types of septum material, glass thickness, liquid crystal volume, and designs of PS position.The experimental analysis and problem-solving ideas laid the foundation for improving the image quality of TFT-LCD in the future. And the analysis and research results has great significance on the improvement of image quality and yield of TFT-LCD product.
