As a widely used Internet communication technology, email has taken up a large proportion in people's informationization lives. However, the securities of the email manufactures are mostly weak at present, it has been facing many menaces, such as peeper, tamper, disavow, ect. This dissertation' purpose is to design a secure email system which used S/MIME standard and knowledge of encryption. It can carry out the secrecy, integrity and non-repudiation in the kind of email system.This design uses the Chaos Cryptography which has been improved, and it can encrypt e-mail's content. Then it can realize digital envelope and digital signal technology in the base of using Elliptic Curve Cryptography. The uses of these technologies can guarantee the secrecy, integrity and non-repudiation of this email system. In order to carry out this system, we have designed a simple CA, which can realize the exchange and management of the certification. And then we have designed email user agent software. We have analyzed the e-mail's encapsulation in the send and receive process. The encapsulation is based on the S/MIME. Finally, we have proved the system's security in theory.This paper's significance is: Elliptic Curve Cryptography and Chaos Cryptography that has been improved should be introduced into the system of the e-mail with the standard of the S/MIME. The design has provided a feasible project about the secure e-mail system that based on encryption.
