At present, a lot of secret information as a part of the electronic mail transferred in Internet, which attracts significant coverage from people who often use electronic mail. This paper makes deep research on the relational techniques of electronic mail firstly, discusses the problem which appears in the process of e-mail's transportation and presents measures against building up the security of electronic mail. Aiming at the problem appears in electronic mail system, it sets up an authenticate protocol for secure e-mail system, and applies this protocol into system based on S/MIME standard. It carries out the secrecy, integrity and non-repudiation of this electronic mail system by taking advantage of the short-length key of Elliptic Curve Cryptography and high-speed of the symmetric cryptography. At the end, it proves the system's security in theory.According to the standards of Secure Multiple Internet Mail Extensions, this paper integrates cryptography into the system, and adds the authentication function to it. Because this system makes Elliptic Curve Cryptography as the public key cryptography, it possesses of advantages such as high security and low demand of bandwidth compared with other system. Thus the system has wide foreground, especially it is fit for the field of wireless network and limited environment.
