With the rapid development of telecom communication network and tec hnology in the modern society, the network management has become incre asingly important. In the operation of telecom communication network, large volumes of alarms and faults are produced every day. Because of the fast expansion of network-scale and frequent increase of networks, the diagnosis and management of network become especially important and we need to explore a high effective fault management system to solve these problems. In the fully implementation process of network resources fault management of Hunan telecom, the author participated in the designs of system requirements analysis and system architecture analysis, he also in charge of the formulation and implementation of the alarm subsystem.Firstly, this thesis introduced the current status of Telecom Operation Support System,and research the method of alarm correlation at home and abroad.. the paper also focused on the introduction of two algorithms applied in the system:one is the alarm correlation algorithm based on resouce model(Dependence graph reasoning approach),another is the alarm correlation algorithm based on Relevance Card(Rule-based reasoning approach),and how to achieve the algorithms respectively.Then, it presented the alarm subsystem designed by the author who as a major designer and developer including the architecture,the founctions and the System processAlarm system has a stable operation in production environment indicates that design concept and algorithms discussed in the paper have a good practical value.
