Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS-DirectDigitalFrequeneySynthesis) is a new frequency synthesis method.-Direct digital frequency synthesizer is an all-digital frequency synthesizer, by the phase accumulator, waveform ROM. DAC and low-pass filter structure, as digital integrated circuits and microelectronic technology, DDS technology increasingly shows out of its superiority. DDS technology has the frequency resolution of high-frequency switching speed and switching frequency of the advantages of continuous phase.Frequency synthesized signal generators for scientific research, teaching experiments and a variety of electronic measurement technology is very important as a signal source, frequency synthesizer a very wide range of applications, especially in the communications systems, radar systems, the frequency synthesizer played an extremely important role.This paper describes the frequency synthesis techniques, and described the status of the direct frequency synthesis technology, and applications; then introduced the basic theory of DDS. and DDS technology, the ideal spectrum and the actual spectrum of the spurious as well as the suppression method is discussed; and then introduced the basic principles and FPGA development process and proposed FPGA platform based on DDS technology to produce a variety of waveform signals a new kind of thinking, in which part of the FPGA on the frequency synthesizer to achieve a detailed elaboration. Finally, the design results have been measured and analyzed.
