Research On Implementation And Testing Of Epg And Nvod In High Definition Set-top-box

With the booming development of digitalization tide, the promotion of global digital TV is accelerated. Digital TV STB(set top box) is the intermediate product from Analog TV to Digital TV, has entered more and more families. With the launch of HD(high-definition) channels, HD STB demand is growing.This paper first studies the structure of HD STB hardware and software. This paper describes the key technologies such as signal processing technology, conditional access technology, channel technology and so on. This paper also studies the PSI information and DVB-SI information. These theories are important to the design and realization of the EPG and NVOD module. The application software's size becomes larger and the system becomes increasingly complex. A new design method of the set-top box based on event-driven state machine is presented by studying automata and event-driven basic theoretical knowledge.The order of searching table is optimized, and section demultiplexing principle is described, and the algorithm of section combinated is analyzed and improved in the design and realization of EPG and NVOD; The way of searching channel is analysed, the two ways of searching channel is designed and realized in this paper; A new design method according to the channel is presented and designed in EPG; The searching process of NVOD module is obtained by using the basic knowledge of the tree and forest in the data structure. The stored ways of binary chain list is used. The realization of the process of binary tree is described; Display technology is introduced; Booking program is designed and realized by using the EPG and NVOD.Testing methods of STB software are studied, and test EPG and NVOD various sub-module. Testing structure of STB automata is defined. STB automata model is designed by ASML. The STB software system based on FSM designing is realized. The EPG and NVOD information analysis system is designed and realized in PC.
