Spatial relations are the most important and basic relations in the objective world. Russian and Chinese belong to different types of language, but there are the nouns of locality in both languages to express the spatial relations. However there are some similarities and differences because of the different types of language and cognitive styles.This thesis attempts to compare and analyze the space systems and spatial metaphorical systems of Russian and Chinese and to present differences between the spaces systems and spatial metaphorical systems of the two languages and to discuss the cause of such differences. In addition, an attempt is made to further understand the relationship between space and spatial metaphorical cognition on the hand, and language, culture, national psychology, and human reasoning on the other. By doing this work, the author hopes to complement and improve the research and study of space systems and spatial metaphor, which is two basic human cognitive law.The paper is divided into six chapters with a conclusion. The general content of the paper is as follows:The first chapter is the introduction, briefly introduces the aim, significance, the general research situation and some achievement of other researchers.The second chapter describes the instructions what is space and spatial directions classification.ChaptersⅢandⅣfor the Russian and Chinese word actually refers to spatial orientation and metaphors. In detail discussed the Russian and Chinese space direction and expression on semantic similarities and differences, and why.
