| George Ernest Morrison is a very active historical figure in the Chinese historical stage in late Qing dynasty. He served as a resident correspondent in Peking for The Times and an advisor for the president of Republic of China from 1897 to 1920 respectively. In his tenure as the presidential advisor, especially after the outbreak of World War I, he actively engaged in the endeavor to make China join the allies and put forward many insightful ideas about China-related finance, economy, foreign relations, border issues, politics and so forth. In order to fulfill this, He dedicated all his energy to gaining the support from other countries. He participated in the Paris conference as a technical consultant after the war. |
