Since the end of 20th century, with the prosperous development of China's program---Teaching Chinese as Foreign Language (TCFL), professional ability of the TCFL teachers has been a magnificent aspect that affects the further development of TCFL. The structure of the professional ability and the cultivation of the professional ability have attracted the researchers'attention. How to cultivate the future TCFL teachers effectively and targetedly is the starting point and also the foothold of our research.Research methods adopted in this thesis are quantitative and qualitative, by which we will discuss the connotation, structure, appraisal and other unsolved matters concerned ability cultivation of the professional ability of the TCFL teachers. Combing theory with practice is the primary way to cultivate qualified teachers, for the structural character of the obtained knowledge; reflection ability is the basic of teaching innovation for TCFL teachers and determination evaluation is considered to have the eliminate attributes.TCFL teachers'professional ability is a complex topic. This research is a preliminary discussion on it, hoping that our discussion can attract more researchers. Although we face the limitation of time and ability, we expect the research achievements will play a positive role in promoting the development of TCFL.
