Lung, Colon, Skin Theories On The Significance Of Prevention And Treatment Of Psoriasis

Aim:This research aims at the pathological and physiological relationship between lung and large intestine, lung and skin, large intestine and skin, to find out the theoretical origin of "lung corresponding to skin and hair", and "large intestine correlating with skin", as well as the pathological relationship between skin disease and lung and large intestine, and to explore the mechanism of treating psoriasis vulgaris by dispersing lung qi. Dispersing lung qi to relieve the exterior is helpful for the circulation of blood and qi on the body surface, and can moisten dryness and nourish the skin, therefore it can treat psoriasis vulgaris of lung-dry type; lowering down lung qi can purge intestine and discharge heat, remove toxin and nourish skin, to treat psoriasis vulgaris of fire-heat type. This research can give a new way to treat psoriasis vulagris from lung and large intestine and guide clinical diagnosis and treatment. Method:1. Literature Review:to find out the physiological and pathological relation between lung, large intestine and skin.2 Clinical Research:120 cases of psoriasis vulgaris are randomly classified into TCM group and Di Yin Pian group. In TCM group, patients were classified into lung-dry type and fire-heat type according to the degree of skin lesions, erythema, scale, dryness, infiltration and chap and treated with Xuanfei Runfu Yin (Mahuang 10g, Danggui 20g, Shengdi 30g, Shaoyao 20g, Niubangzi 15g, Fangfeng 10g, Jiegeng 6g, Maidong 15g, Sangye 15g, Ejiao10g, Lianqiao 15g, totally 165g) and Qingfei Tongchang Yin (Dahuang 10g, Huangqin 10g, Tufuling 30g, Baixianpi 15g, Huangbai 10g, Zhishi 15g, Binlang 5g, Sangpi 15g, Xingren 10g, Zhebaimu 10g, Banlangen 25g, Zicao 10g, totally 165g) respectively. The above mentioned medicine is taken as decoction. In Control group, Di Yin Pian (Donated by Chonngqin Huabang Pharmaceutical Company, Registration Number:Chongqin Health and Medicine Authorization number (1997)002181), is taken with warm boiled water,5 tablets per time,3 times per day. The therapy lasted for 8 weeks, after every 2 weeks to re-examine the range of the skin lesions, severity of erythema, amount of scale, degree of infiltration and itching. Result:The obvious effective rate of TCM is 76.5%, with total effective rate 96.75%, better than Di Yin Pian group (P<0.05).Conclusion:Psoriasis vulagris (lung-dry type and fire-heat type) can be treated with Xuanfei Runfu Yin and Qingfei Tongchang Yin effectively with low recurrence rate, which can prove that dispersing lung qi and relieving exterior can help the circulation of blood and qi on the body surface, to moisten dryness and nourish skin, and lowering down lung qi can purging intestine and discharge heat, remove toxin and nourish skin.
