| Objective To discuss the value of multislice spiral CT angiography in diagnosing arterial diseases of the lower extremities.Materials and Methods Seventy patients who were diagnosed arterial diseases of the lower extremities were submitted to MSCTA. The images were transmitted to SUN workstation (software edition:Advantage Windows 4.1). On the basis of transect images and volume rendering images and multiplannar volume reconstructions images, the diseases were analyzed. Then the results on MSCTA were compared with those of Doppler sonography, digital subtraction angiography, surgical and pathological.Results All cases were examined by doppler sonography,52 cases were examined by DSA,11 cases were operated. In 70 examined cases, all examined arteries were revealed on MSCTA.51 cases of arteriosclerosis obliterans (with thrombus in 16 cases),6 cases of thromboangitis obliterans,4 cases of arterial embolism,2 cases of Takayasu's arterutis with arteriosclerosis obliterans and 7 cases is nomal. The 7 cases are not examined by DSA or operated on. The data of 63 patients could be used in the study. Compared with digital subtraction angiography, MSCTA had a higher sensitivity of 97.22%and specificity of 100%, a positive predictive value of 100%and negative predictive value of 98.04%in revealing Grade I and II branches of the femoral artery. Compared with doppler sonography, MSCTA accord higher than doppler sonography with DSA or operation. MSCTA do not show very well to part of artery, calf artery and Gradeā
¢branches of the femoral artery.Conclusion MSCTA can display the focuses's location, size, shape and the focuses in and mural clearly and can grade the stenosis of the endovascular. MSCTA is a convenient, exact imaging technology and safety, noninvasive examine modality. It accord with DSA in diagnosing arterial diseases of the lower extremities. It is an applied technology, it has high value of clinic application. |
