Strawberry ( Fragaria ananassa. Duch ), one of major berries widely dispersed over the world, is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to Fragaria of Rosaceae. Tianshui city began cultivating strawberry in the 1970s, and has had over 300 hectares of it now. However, the planting areas and yields were gradually reduced owing to outdated and simplistic varieties and backward cultivation techniques. In order to understand the growth of the introduced strawberry cultivars—Togonoka, Earliglow, Lihong, Mohawk, Fujieniya and Selva—the grey relevant analyzing method was used to conduct a comprehensive assessment between those and the local stable cultivar Allstar in Tianshui. In addition, compound fertilizer Baofengling was chosen for leaf fertilization during flowering period, and different planting densities were adopted in plastic green house. The results showed: Togonoka, Earliglow and Selva had the characteristics of high yield, short plant, high soluble solids content (SSC), good resistance to pressure and special flavour, and were suitable for cultivation and spread in Tianshui area. The relational degrees of both the equal relational grade analysis and the weighted grade analysis were the best, and the comprehensive properties were significantly superior to the local cultivar Allstar. The order of equal weighted grey relevant degree was Togonoka, Earliglow, Selva, Allstar, Lihong, Fujieniya and Mohawk, and that of weighted grey relevant degree was Togonoka, Selva, Earliglow, Fujieniya, Allstar, Lihong and Mohawk. The compound fertilizer Baofengling at the concentration of 800-1500 dilution could improve the growth of plant and leaves, the qualities of the fruits and the yields of strawberry. In the density trials, the density of 10000-12000 plants/667m~2 gave maximum yield in plastic green house. In addition, suitable time of strawberry planting and measures to prevent and control the plant diseases and eliminate the pests were put forward after on-the-spot investigation.
