With the increasing of fertilizer application year by year,the problems caused by fertilizers are present widely in the world.The relations between the amount of chemical fertilizer input and the yield of cultivated crops are urgent question to be solved in fertilization application techniques for agricultural practice at present.As a typical karst mountainous area,dryland agriculture is main farming system in the district.Like other agricultural areas,chemical fertilizers are widely used in Anshun city,located in the central part of Guizhou province.However,it is difficult to present the evaluation on fertilizer application to maize in detail in Anshun area due to the lack of enough scientific data based on the experimental trail.An investigation on maize fertilizer application in Anshun was carried out in the present study.The obtained results are described below:There were several problems of fertilizer application in maize production.1). the amount of organic fertilizer used in the maize field is not enough;2).the ratio of applied N,P and K fertilizers into the field is not suitable for nutrition uptake of maize.In general,more N is added to the siol.3).the various fertilizers are not used in the field.Usually,urea and common super-phosphate are chosen to apply,and K and other special fertilizers are less used.4).there are significant differences of fertilizer application in Anshun region of mazie production.5) The incorrect methods of using fertilizers are quite common,etc.To improve the technique of fertilizer application for maize production in Anshun,an approach called the "3414" fertilizer experiments was conducted in 2006.The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the amount of N,P,K applied and the yield of maize,and to seek the suitable mathmatical model for higher yoeld of maize in Anshun.The obtained results showed that,the success ratio of simulation by three-factor model was very high in the middle level of soil fertility,and the maize yields of 3rd,6th,13th and 14th treatments were highest among all 14 treatments,which increased the yield by 72.5-77.8%compared with the treatments without fertilizer.The balanced fertilization model is Y=266.96+16.46N+25.66P+1.69K-1.33NP+0.49NK+ 0.52PK-0.50N~2-1.13P~2-0.46K~2,the F test reached the extremely significant level(P<0.01) and the results analyzed with interaction coefficients by t test showed that and N,P monomial coefficients were remarkable,but K wasn't.There was a negative correlation between the yield and of N,P coefficient which was significant.The NK coefficient wasn't remarkable.The effect of phosphorous fertilizer on maize yield was the highest,and the effect of N,P interaction was the highest under the 1st treatment.The optimal fertilization scheme of corn in Anshun could be:N is 4.92kg/mu;P8.66kg/mu and K 6.70kg/mu..
