Rock Plant Growth Of Grass On Soil Thickness And Moisture Response

Rook plants are the plants can grow on rock with thin soil or rock facies. As an important rock plant, Pogonatherum paniceum(Lam.)Hack is an international hotspot. Pogonatherum paniceum(Lam.)Hack. is gramineous and perennial plant, it can grow in execrable entironment such as rook gap and slope whit little soil. Therefore, the introduction of Pogonatherum paniceum(Lam.)Hack, which has strong resistance to drought and barren, may be used widely in vegetation rehabilitation or soil and water conservation.In this study, thickness of soil of the plots was controlled separately at none(plot1), 1cm(plot2), 2cm(plot3), 3cm(plot4), 4cm(plot5), 5cm(plot6), and Pogonatherum paniceum(Lam.)Hack. grown on the plots were studied. We recorded the pullulating rate, height, canopy, root system area, maximum length of foot, weight, root/stem ratio of Pogonatherum paniceum(Lam.)Hack. to observe the effect of soil thickness to Pogonatherum paniceum(Lam.)Hack.'s growth. The results showed that the pullulating rate of Pogonatherum paniceum(Lam.)Hack. increased along with the increase of soil thickness, the root system area, maximum length of foot and root/stem ratio of Pogonatherum paniceum(Lam.)Hack. reduced along with the increase of soil thickness, the height, canopy and weight of Pogonatherum paniceum(Lam.)Hack. was maximum in plot4, reduced along with the increase or decrease of soil thickness.In this study, another experiment, soil moisture content was controlled separately at 2%, 4%, 6% ,8%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, field moisture capacity, and Pogonatherum paniceum(Lam.)Hack. grown under these soil water conditions were studied.
