With the increase in construction like highways, railways, dam etc., there are a large number of rock slopes that destroy the natural vegetation. It leads to serious water-soil erosion. Both construction and eco-environment is vital program of the sustainable development. The task to find suitable plants of slope eco-engineering is a realistic and focus problem that must be solved.According to the special surroundings of rock slopes, two native petrophile plants (Eriophorum comosum Nees) and (Eriophorum comosum Nees) are studied, comparing to bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon) that is usually applied on the slope eco-engineering. Research is done on the natural slopes and man-made slopes.Two native petrophile plants are found to be superior over bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon) in resistance. Two native petrophile plants are always greener in the four seasons and were alive in the drought period for duration of 60 days, which is in accordance with the results of experimental resistance. Therefore, two native petrophile plants are right materials applied on the slope eco-engineering. Moreover, Division into Districts about Vegetation is made.Based on the SVS (soil-vegetation system) theories, biological and ecological effect of petrophile plants are studied. Research Program about Rock Weathered become a role, and some elements get rise to the weathering of rock together, such as weather and vegetation. External factors showed as followed: temperature and rain; Internal factors showed as followed: vegetation, rock quality and soil so on. Root exudates, soil microorganism, soil physical and chemical properties have influence on each other and change with the season, and are made of the key factors in SVS.This study analyzed the factors of seed quantity, including species, germination rate, establishment speed, spraying height and the proportion of base material mixture based on natural slope Vs man made rock slope test. Reasonable seed quantity is determined: Pogoatherum paniceum (lam.) Hack96(0.3043g-0.4226g/m2), Eriophorum comosum Nees (0.2722g-0.3778g /m2). The frictional effect between plant vertical root system and epidermal rock builds the ' Plant- soil- rock system1. This system can prevent water-soil erosion. Compared to the control bermudagrass, the two native petrophile plants had higher soil erosion resistance index.According to the restoration ecology, especially plant community succession and biodiversity theory, restoration regulation of slope eco-engineering is analyzed. Plant recovery initiates with faster growth grass as pioneer plant. With the plant community succession and native plants invasion, biomass, biodiversity, soil microbial species and quantity, animal diversity and mass are increasing.The final step is to build stable vegetation in perfect coordination with the surroundings and community. At present there is no evaluation system for vegetation restoration of rock slope. Therefore establishing scientific and simple evaluation system is essential to slope eco-engineering research and plants use. This study explored and proposed the evaluation system for vegetation restoration of rock slope. From the dynamic point of view, the overall evaluation system is composed of two stages: early stage of restoration (landscape evaluation), middle and later stage of restoration (ecology evaluation). The time of landscape evaluation is for 6 months and the time of ecology evaluation is for 2-5 years after construction. Index signs of Landscape evaluation include coverage, density, growth speed, rigidity, resistance, green period, uniform, color; Index signs of ecology evaluation include: coverage, bio-diversity index, the resemblance coefficient between native species, resistance and aesthetic value. According to weighted coefficient, the worthiness of evaluation of vegetation is computed. Using this system, evaluation of ' Shengzhen Yanba' highway rock slope and 'Ya' an Zhougong' mountain rock slope had reasonable results.
