Study On The Introduction, Cultivation And Extension Of New Strawberry Cultivars

Ningde city is the main production area of strawberry in Fujian. And the main variety of strawberry fengxiang has a cultivation history of almost 20 years. Due to asexual multiplication by creeping stem for long times, its quality had degenerated severely. The disadvantages the weak growth potential, small fruit and low quality, the declined disease resistance, prematurity and the decreased yield as a result of being infected by viruses had seriously restricted the development of strawberry in Ningde. Therefore, it's not only necessary but urgent to upgrade and rejuvenate the present variety fengxiang or introduce a better one.74 new varieties were introduced from home and abroad for comparison research in view of the above conditions. The research had been carried out in two years taking fengxiang as the control. The method of indirect comparison was taken in the first year through which 8 varieties were screened after with two repeats for further research. And in the following year we took the method of random comparison to synthetically estimate the 8 varieties by the factors of disease resistance, yield, early maturity and quality with the control of fengxiang, and after three repeats, the varieties of guishugan, gongsimei, falandi and maitelai were identified to be better than the control.Tissue culture was used for seedling multiplication. The bud of being monocaryon phase was taken as the explant. The anther was disinfected and inoculated into a culture medium. Take "MS" as the basic culture medium, and different concentration of 6-BA, NAA and IBA were added to make three combinations. The culture condition is:saccharose 30g/L, agar 8g/L, pH 5.6-5.8, temperature (24±2)℃, fluorescent lamp time (12-18) 18h/d and intensity of illumination 1600-3000Lux。. Fengxiang was taken as the control. Consequently, the optimum culture medium was screened out for anther differentiation as:MS+6-BA 0.5mg/L+NAA 0.05mg/L+ saccharose 30g/L+agar 8%, fluorescent lamp time 1218h/d, intensity of illumination 1600 Lux, and the optimum culture medium for rootage as:1/2MS+NAA0.03mg/L+ saccharose 20 g/L+ agar 8%, fluorescent lamp time 1218h/d, intensity of illumination 1600 Lux.Through these experiments, the cultivation and high yield techniques were concluded for the four screened out varieties of strawberry which are feasible and can be taken for reference in Ningde and even in Fujian, and good economic and social benefit were gained.
