Vector Signal Analyzer Is Applied Research, In A Radio Test

With the development of digital communication, higher and more requirements about measurements are needed. A new measurement instrument, vector signal analyzer(VSA), plays a critical role in test transmitter and receiver of military radio because its powerful functions to measure and analyze all modulation mode signal accurately. The demodulation function of VSA can evaluate the performances of a transmitter qualitatively and quantitatively, which has respect to the radio's technical merit directly, affecting the tactics and technical target, and military result as well. So, many manufactures around the world make their efforts to develop superior VSA.The dissertation describes the background of the subject and the application; pull into basic concept about measurement domain and digital modulation technology; introduces the theory of VSA and its method about testing,illustrating and analyzing signal; listing some types of advanced VSA and their performances made by main manufactures. Compared measurement instruments of analogy modulation-radio with that of digital modulation-radio, and linking with test requirements at the present, the dissertation expatiates some deeply research work in testing radio by using the demodulation function of VSA, including the procedure in troubleshooting,determining the proposal in wide-band receiver test, and researching the measurement method to test symbol rate, a significant parameter in digital modulation. Besides, the paper also described some research work about how to capture and analyze signal of hopping radio by using VSA.During the dissertation developing, I took the responsibility of analyzing the radio's performances, constructing and selecting measurement instruments, determining test method and verifying experimentally, mainly studying new problems found in performance test. After the academic analyzing, verifying with commonly used instruments, testing system and modules, the project gained good performance expected before, instruments selected and measurement method approved and been put to use.
