Abstract/Summary:
Vacuum Interrupter (VI) is the key component used in the switch electricity as vacuum circuit breaker, load switch, vacuum contactor. There are many studies on circuit breaker and load switches based on VI today, and many progresses have made in the design and manufacturing of VI, however, rare report has been published about VI's application in vacuum breaker. The main difference between vacuum breaker and vacuum contractor is that vacuum breaker could break great electric current with less operation, while vacuum contactor could operate at a high frequency about Max. 1200 per hour with a long lifetime of usage. This paper focuses on the minimization of VI in the application of vacuum contactor.Few reports had been found in this aspect. This paper will based on the thoughts of minimizing VI in the application of vacuum breaker, minimize VI in its volume according the development of vacuum arc theory and optimization of internal electric field; minimize its structure by using combined insulation techniques.The features of vacuum contactor as strong ability to extinguish arc, to resist high pressure, high frequency of operation, long life span, no outside washing of arc, small size and less weight, ask the contact materials of VI have enough ability to switch with lower electricity closure, resistance to high electric pressure, higher resistance to wield, lower contain of gas, higher electricity conductivity, higher thermal conductivity and higher mechanical strength, lower electricity resistance, lower electroerosivity and lower hot electron emission. This paper made some innovative and exploration about the above topics, and its main contains as:1,The selection of contactor maters. Select the usual contactor maters as MoCu, AgWC, WCu, CuWAlTe amd CrCu according to the operation mechanism of contactor. Design the contractor according to the different chemical components and physical property of different materials and assemble the contactor to VI. Then decide the contactor materials and structure by simulating vacuum contactor's operation by electricity shaping as observing the surface of contactor, the internal change of contactor (metallograph) and the internal pollution of metal steam of VI. 2,The selection of air seal shell. Which should use end seal technique by using vacuum ceramics so as to confirm the high resistance to pressure.3,To select the variable and fix electric pole so as to guarantee the temperature of VI meet the standard.
