The Study On Chaoshan Traditional Community Architecture

The formation and development of Chaoshan traditional community architecture are closely connected with the migration culture in central plains of China. The dissertation will explore the topic from the following four aspects. First, I will discuss the relationship between the formation and development of Chaoshan traditional community architecture and the geographical features of Chaoshan area. Secondly,I will analyse the four features of the archi tecture:orderliness, security, privacy and splendour. Thirdly, the thesis achieves a clearer idea of the Chaoshan architecture through a closer look at the construction details of the traditional community architecture. A few thoughts on the passing and development of the architectural tradition are presented at the end of the thesis.
