Urban waterfront, as one of the most attractive areas in the city, has lots of resources and economic opportunities concentrated.Researching on the multiple-mode of the waterfront landscape design, can make benefits to the effective utilization of resources and the development of the landscape. Waterfronts have different patterns in different cities, locations and land use. Based on the research of suitability evaluation methods, attempts to propose a multiple-mode to different waterfront patterns, in order to advantage a harmonious, ecological and local waterfront landscape.This text is boiling to put the practical investigation in the waterfront of Xiang River in Changsha, through system analysis, it could be concluded that different landscape patterns have different influence on the environmental, economical and cultural, which is expected to be able to provide theoretical and technical supports to the construction of the open space in waterfront.The text has five pieces:Chapter 1:Introduction. This chapter overviews the history background of waterfront development and the study of landscape mode at home and abroad, puts forward the research methods, purposes and frames of this text.Chapter 2:Sums up the lastest domestic and international related researches. First analyses the pattern of landscape design, then proposes five waterfront patterns:environmental mode, economical mode, cultural mode, leisure mode and integration mode.Chapter 3:Overviews the background of waterfront in Changsha and the scope of the study.Chapter 4:Through the discuss of the features of waterfront landscape in Xiang River, proposes that, different landscape pattern need different development mode.Chapter 5:Sums up the main content, the main conclusion and the innovative achievement of this thesis.
