The Development Of High-rise Buildings In The Glass Curtain Wall Technology Impact Study Of Its Architectural Style

With the development of architectural technology, the glass curtain wall has been applied in architecture during the early last century. Because of its light weight, short construction period,distinctive character and aesthetic features,the glass curtain walls are greatly favored by designers and rapidly developed by the driven of many architects, forming a colorful and richly varied urban landscape and almost becoming one of the characteristics of modern architecture.In this dissertation, the author take the technical attribute of the curtain wall in high-rise building as the start, dividing its development into four stages:the rudimentary stage, the exploration stage, the development stage and contemporary, analysing the influence of curtain walls technology of high-rise building on its architectural style in these four technical stages.During the exploration stage of the glass curtain wall the artistic expression focused on the transparency of materials, functional fitness, rational technology expression, so the formation of the architectural style is the function of first, simple, monotonous as the so-called internationalist style.During the development stage of the glass curtain wall the artistic expression focused on the expression of reflective and richness material, the expression of structural complexity, the impact on high-rise architecture is that the high-rise building forms and colors are very rich, the skin of architecture is smooth and it can completely reflect the surrounding landscape and environment.In contemporary stage,the glass curtain wall the artistic expression focused on the returning of transparency, artistic expression of structural technology, the expression of intelligent technology, the influence of the technology of glass curtain wall on its high-rise architectural style is light and transparent skin of the building, the irregular form, breaking boundaries of the monotony of the form of high-rise buildings in previous rules, which has high technical performance of the force.By the analysis above, we can conclude that the development of the technology of glass curtain wall and the styles of high-rise buildings is intrinsically linked, technology is an influential role in promoting the arts. At the same time,the digital,eco-oriented development of the time, and there is safety, emotional crisis,visual pollution and other issues of glass curtain wall still need further study.
