With the acceleration of urbanization and the development of construction techniques,glass curtain walls have been increasingly used in building’s maintenance structures.In a strong wind environment,loose components with a certain quality will be rolled up by the wind and become wind-borne debris.The impact of wind-borne debris is an important reason for the damage to the building envelope.Such impacts will cause relatively large damage to the structural safety and use perception of the building.Therefore,this paper aims to study typical wind-borne debris and glass curtain walls,obtain the flight mechanism of wind-borne debris,impact mode of wind-borne debris,failure mechanism and failure probability of the glass curtain wall,and conduct theoretical analysis and numerical simulation to find wind-borne debris under strong wind conditions.Find out the vulnerable parts of the high-rise building envelope structure,reduce the damage of the glass curtain wall by the wind-borne debris in the strong environment,and carry out the disaster prevention and mitigation of the building.At first,this paper studies the characteristics of different types of flying debris flight.The computational fluid dynamics(CFD)method was compared with theoretical analysis method and wind tunnel test data to verify the feasibility of the dynamic grid numerical simulation method.Then the flight trajectories of the three types of debris in a specific environment are simulated in the whole process to obtain the movement parameters of the three types of projectiles in the wind field and use this date to simulate the impact of debris on glass panel to get the failure modes and crack propagation laws of tempered glass and float glass.The simulation also get the variation of wind pressure on the windward side of the opening building:the wind pressure at the opening of the building will increase,while the other positions will change little.The wind pressure on the windward side will change greatly with the change of the distance of the building in the downwind direction,and change little with the change of the distance of the building perpendicular to the direction of the wind direction.Then the Monte Carlo principle is used to obtain the probability densities of stress failure and deflection failure at different heights and wind speeds under the condition of normal distribution.Finally,by simulating the flow charts,velocity cloud maps and wind velocity vectors of single and double buildings under different building spacing and wind directions,the movement trends and trajectories of projectiles under different wind and building environments can be predicted and shown intuitively,which is statistically significant.This paper studies the motion law of the debris flying in the wind field and glass curtain wall impact resistance and wind resistance.Puts forward a whole process of research project set of flying debris from takeoff to impact glass curtain wall,integrating the classification principles of flying debris and the equation of motion in the wind field,creatively to simulate the flying debris trajectories in real scene and inductive summary of wind field under different building space were analyzed.This study of wind environment flying debris provides guidance on the study of glass curtain wall structure maintenance and engineering application value.
