With the international community's attention to electromagnetic noise pollution gradually, countries have developed the electromagnetic compatibility standards on different types of the electric and electronic products, which subject to certain restrictions the production and sale of the products. At present, many colleges, universities and institutes begin to attach importance to electromagnetic compatibility studies of electronic devices, mainly in the electromagnetic interference modeling and suppression technology of the power converter, the electromagnetic interference modeling and suppression technology of the electrical transmission, the EMI filter parasitics, the PCB layout optimization, the numerical analysis techniques of the EMI, and so on.In this paper, a 575W electronic ballast is studied, including the rectifier circuit, the power factor correction circuit, and the inverter power circuit. Furthermore the generation and the way and mode of transmission on the conducted interference are analyzed. Basing on the Buck circuit and the PFC (Power Factor Correction) circuit, an equivalent circuit model of the conducted interference is established and used for Pspice software simulation. A comprehensive conducted interference test is finished with ESPI3 test receiver produced by Rohde & Schwarz company, including differential-mode interference test and common-mode interference test. Last, according to the conduction disturbance characteristics of electronic ballast, a passive power filters is designed. By measuring the filtering-effect of the filter has reached the design requirements.
